Copyright and the use of intellectual property

When dealing with intellectual property, be sure that you are not breaking copyright boundaries

With the increased use of the internet as a source of information for many businesses, the use of downloaded information in websites and literature can often be, quite innocently, in breach of copyright.

We will advise you on the copyright of images, text and designs and help you comply with any limitations they may have.

Designs and graphic artwork produced by the Design Well Limited
All designs are completely original and therefore are the intellectual property of the Design Well Limited. When paid for in full, all rights to the design are passed to the client for use wherever they wish. We will also provide the artwork on CD or email upon request.

Royalty-free stock art photography (from third-party suppliers)
We always recommend using royalty-free images so that the restriction on their use is minimal and they can be used in most forms of online and offline marketing.

Rights-managed stock art photography (from third-party suppliers)
If royalty-free is not suitable, then rights-managed imagery is another option. This tends to be more expensive because it takes into account every use of the image including the number of impressions on a print run and international locations that it will appear in. Often they are more refined and individual photographs.

Original photography produced by the Design Well Limited
We have photographers and studios that we use for different types of imagery and for different budgets. We always include the copyright of any imagery supplied within the cost of the photo shoot and, once paid for in full, all rights to the images are passed to the client for use wherever they wish.

Text produced by the Design Well Limited
All text we supply is completely original and is therefore the intellectual property of the Design Well Limited. When paid for in full, all rights to the text are passed to the client for use wherever they wish.

Pictures and text supplied by you
You may wish to supply your own images and text and in these cases you are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use them and that if there is any copyright attached to them that you have the permission from the copyright owner to pass them to us to use. If you are supplying images and text, please ensure you have the right to use them.
